James River Elementary PTA

Each year the PTA puts on a direct donation drive instead of asking families to raise money the old fashioned way through sales.  Our campaign kicked off on Septemeber 25th and we will be collecting money until November 16th.

The winning grade level (by Nov. 10th) will get to watch all four of their teachers get ‘caked’ at our first ever pep rally on November 17th.

Send in your donations today with your student to help them win!!  This funds PTA activities, programs, and other things for the staff and students throughout the year.  Our goal this year is $5000!!dolphin donations peachjar

We are beginning to look for volunteers for our upcoming Fall Book Fair.

When signing up – keep in mind that Wednesday, Thursday and Friday are both half days (dismissal at 12:46) and Parent-Teacher Conferences.  Please do not schedule your conference during your shift as this can leave us short staffed as parents are wanting to shop.

Hi JRE Families!

This is just an update with lots of good information for you:

The PTA has received a display table in the corner of the Lobby.  You can find relevant flyers and membership forms.  It also has a giant white board that has tons of information on it so you can stay in the know.

This Tuesday is our WATCH D.O.G.S. pizza party.  We are inviting all the men in our students lives to come out and have some pizza with their student and learn about this wonderful program and sign up for their very own volunteer day(s).  We hope to see the Dads, Step-dads, Grandfathers, Uncles, adult big brothers, etc. there on Tuesday Night (the 19th) at 6PM in the Cafeteria.

Thursday (the 21st) DON’T COOK and instead join us at Maurizio’s Italian Restaurant for our first sit down spirit night.  From 5-9 PM you can come in to dine or even do carryout – just tell your server or cashier that you are there for our Spirit Night and a percentage of the sales come back to JRE.

Many parents aren’t even aware that the PTA has a bulletin board at the school that shows all the events, sign-ups, and information you need to stay informed!

This year we are going to use it more effectively to keep our families informed about all our events, programs, and information.

If you’ve never noticed it before you will find it to your left between the double doors when you enter the building. Upon exit, obviously it will be on your right.

Please take a minute when you are visiting the school to stop and see what we have posted. The bulletin board is always changing and has all of our up to date information that our families need to be and stay involved throughout the year.
